Empowering the Feminine Form: Karoline Vitto Graces the Runway in Milan
Dolce&Gabbana Backs Karoline Vitto at Milan Fashion Week through the 'Supported by' Initiative.
Following successful collaborations with Miss Sohee, Matty Bovan, and Tomo Koizumi, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have partnered with Karoline Vitto, a Brazilian designer based in London, for their 'Supported by' project. Vitto's designs celebrate the genuine beauty of the female form, emphasizing inclusivity, form, self-confidence, and sustainable material use—principles that resonate deeply with Dolce&Gabbana’s values. Their support for Karoline Vitto is highlighted in her Spring/Summer 2024 Collection, presented at Milan Fashion Week in September 2023 at the Via Broggi 23 venue in Milan.
Celebrating the Beauty of the Female Form
Karoline Vitto’s collection, inspired by Dolce&Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 1992 Collection, pays tribute to the female form by accentuating and celebrating natural curves and contours. This homage is reflected through the use of lingerie, a hallmark of the fashion house’s iconic repertoire.
Set against a backdrop of Brazilian funk music by Luchalibre Audio, the runway featured medallions, pendants, and coins collected from Karoline’s family during their lively market excursions in São Paulo, adding a personal touch. Fabrics and accessories from Dolce&Gabbana’s archives enriched the collection, forging a connection between past and present with an elegance reminiscent of the early 2000s. The looks were completed with a range of inclusive footwear, specially created by Dolce&Gabbana to support Karoline's runway presentation.
“From the very first encounter with Karoline and her work, it was a true love affair. We both believe in the essence of authentic beauty, one that transcends sizes and standards and instead reflects the depth of the soul. Her creations skillfully unveil forms, such as cut-outs on the skin, stretch fabrics, and steel threads framing the folds that celebrate the freedom of self-expression in fashion. We are delighted to offer our support to Karoline, as she seizes this exceptional opportunity to present her creativity in Milan for the first time.”
Working with young creatives and witnessing their successes has always filled our hearts with joy. In this project, Katie Grand’s aid and enthusiasm has been crucial since the initial edition. We look forward to continuing this journey together, and to supporting other incredible talents,”share Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
“It is an honour to receive such immense support from Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana on the occasion of my first show at Milan Fashion Week. I thank the Dolce&Gabbana family for giving me this opportunity and for encouraging me to continue to improve my brand and its ethics. This Collection has exceeded my expectations due to the careful attention I have received from the team: from the use of new materials to the limitless approach on creative expression, all of which have helped me elevate my work even more. I am delighted to showcase my celebration for body positivity on such a significant stage, and I cannot thank Dolce&Gabbana enough for their encouragement and support,”
said Karoline Vitto.
