Double-breasted and sharply sculptural, Dries Van Noten’s Vafel coat refines brown outerwear with mirror lapels, padded dropped shoulders and a fluid ruffle at the back. The brown mélange wool blend is lined in viscose and cotton, while front buttons, pockets and long sleeves complete the structure. An asymmetrical hem adds movement, lending this women’s coat a poised trench-coat feel with a distinctly directional finish.

About the brand

Antwerp Six Tailoring in Counterpoint

Founded by Belgian third-generation tailor Dries Van Noten, the Antwerp house began with a first menswear collection in 1986 after his studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium. Its identity grew from the Antwerp Six moment, when Belgian designers carried an independent proposition to London and Paris. The house is known for ready-to-wear that sets relaxed tailoring against color, floral prints, jacquard, brocade and embroidery, creating contradictory-yet-harmonious clothes built for wear.
