Paris-founded, Maison Margiela reframed luxury through conceptual design that exposes what fashion usually conceals, from seams and linings to cut lines and construction marks. The house is known for codes rather than overt logos, including Four Stitches, Numeric coding, Bianchetto, Anonymity of the lining, and Décortiqué. Its split-toe Tabi and the four exposed white stitches on the exterior make recognition a matter of method, not branding.
