Canadian-born and Milan-based, Sara Roka builds its womenswear from the architecture of the borrowed men’s button-down shirt: collar, placket, cuff, button and crisp fabrication. The house turns that masculine-cut skeleton into chemisier dressing through Italian poplin and oxford, 1950s full-skirt proportions and color-saturated prints developed in Como. Waist-defining grosgrain ribbon belts, mother-of-pearl button closures and contrasting cuffs or collars give its shirtdresses, Soleil pleated skirts and tailoring a polished Made in Italy precision.
