From Galerie Vérot-Dodat to Loubi Red

Christian Louboutin opened his first boutique in Paris’s Galerie Vérot-Dodat in 1991, then made the Maison instantly legible with the red sole introduced in 1992. Its design language begins with desire and silhouette: pronounced arches, deep décolleté, sharp pointed toes, and patent calf leather shaped to lengthen the line of the leg. Cabaret, ballet, Pigalle, and travel feed a vocabulary of signature spikes, scalloped edges, CL Mooncrest hardware, and Loubi red linings across shoes and bags.
