S Max Mara reworks the chemisier dress with the Smmleva midi, defined by a flared silhouette, polka dots, dropped shoulders and three-quarter sleeves. A hidden mother-of-pearl button closure extends from front to hem, while side slits, pockets and a central back crease add ease. Unlined for a lighter feel, it comes with two removable belts, one matching and one contrast, to refine the waist.

Introduced in 1998 within the Reggio Emilia company Achille Maramotti founded in 1951, 'S Max Mara draws on a family tailoring lineage traced through Marina Rinaldi and Giulia Fontanesi Maramotti. It is the house's more relaxed, day-facing expression of Italian ready-to-wear, built around coats that hold authority without stiffness. Wrap, robe, short belted, and cocooning shapes recur in virgin wool or alpaca with clean lapels, softened sleeves, and visible horn-button or belt details.
