Rick Owens founded his label in Los Angeles in 1994 after leaving Porterville, dropping out of art school and learning pattern-making. With Michèle Lamy as business and life partner, the house is Californian in origin, Parisian in presentation, and tied to Concordia sulla Secchia, where collections are designed and crafted. Its anti-bourgeois language of black and Dust sets severe leather and washed jersey against high-cinch tailoring, sharply extended shoulders and biblical drape. GEOBASKET sneakers give alternative beauty its stance through signature geometric panels and shark-toothed bumper soles.
